No, as long as you can pass the audition there's no age restriction
Oldest member we have had was over 70+
Does it cost money?
No, it does not cost anything to join if you pass the audition to be part of the group
However if we were to go on a trip, this maybe different and is case by case, sometimes we get sponsored
I haven't sung in a while, can I still try out?
Yes, our audition process will give you plenty of time for you to get your voice going
Are there any criteria or requirements?
Yes, you are expected to attend all rehearsals

Everyone is re-auditioned every year and all rights of membership are under the conductor's discretion
Do I need to be a good dancer?
No, however if you are not willing to try to learn any moves, best not try out

YES, Brian is teaching barbershop again!

How many hours am I expected to spend on Stellar Singers?
We'd expect this may be different based on individual ability
In general , we'd expect you to spend roughly 3 hours per week, including weekly rehearsal
On average we only rehearse around 40 times per year. We usually have 2 months or more off during the xmas and new year summer holiday
Can I miss rehearsals when I feel like it?
Yes, we understand there are days you may not be well enough to come to the choir or have work commitments
However if you miss 4 or more rehearsals in a year (that's more than 10% of the rehearsal for us) it's likely
your membership will go in for a review and may result in loss of membership, special circumstances can apply
I'm in a musical theatre, can I pick and choose which rehearsals I come to?
No, if you are wanting to do musical theatre at the same time, please join another choir
We love musical theatre, but in our experience rehearsal clash is inevitable
Do I need to be able to read music?
No, if you have a good ear we can help you learn the music during rehearsals
Many singers in the previous Stellar Singers did not read music
Do I need to memorise all the music
We memorise all our music, but you won't be doing it alone. Brian has a method to help you memorise music
As long as you make all the rehearsasls and follow the conductor you'll be fine (as it was for most students who have been taught in Brian's choirs)
Are you expected to do things to help the group?
We welcome any help but no background work will be expected from any singer
When we have concerts, you will be expected to do little things to help on the day of the event
Mostly easy stuff that's well within individual's abilities.

Anyone who loves singing at high quality
Anyone who's driven to achieve something more
Any ex-members or ex-student's of Brian
Do I need to prepare any songs?
No, not necessary but it's a plus if you do
